The Constitutional Court confirmed President Joko Widodo’s (“Jokowi”) election victory on 27 June, rejecting opposition challenger Prabowo Subianto’s claims of fraud. Several thousand Prabowo supporters protested in Jakarta against the ruling, but there were no reports of violence, and Prabowo himself said he accepted the outcome. Jokowi was officially declared President-elect on 30 June, when Prabowo also disbanded the opposition coalition that had backed his candidacy.
